What is he shouting again? And who's even shocked by a hearty "Tank Hooray!"

In the various branches of the Bundeswehr, traditional battle cries have become established, which on the one hand are to be understood as greetings and congratulations as in other professions (cf. “Glück auf” of the miners) or in some sports (e.g. “Gut Holz” in bowling), and on the other hand are intended to strengthen and express the esprit de corps and the camaraderie of the troops.

And don’t worry: The official calls of the branches of the military were again defined as military customs in the Inspector of the Army's Guide to Preserving Traditions in the Army dated 1 December 1999.

In that sense: TANK HOORAY!
