Landmines and explosive ordnance pose a significant threat worldwide. The handbook " Landmines and Munitions in Crisis Areas" is the German version of the “Landmines, Explosive Remnants of War and Improvised Explosive Devices Safety Handbook”.

It was created by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) and has since been translated into numerous languages. It helps you recognize the dangers posed by mines and unexploded ordnance, thus enabling safe travel and work in areas contaminated with explosive ordnance.

Author Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Enke, Dipl. Ing., has worked exclusively in ammunition technology and firing safety in various positions since 1982 and has participated in seven missions in various countries, including explosive ordnance disposal. He also served as an advisor to the Inspector General of the Army on matters of ammunition safety and firing safety. He is currently involved in the modernization of firing ranges at military training areas as a reservist.
