The Baofeng UV-5R is one of the most widely used radios. It's affordable and has a lot of features. Unfortunately, it also has its drawbacks, two major ones being the unprotected transmit buttons and the exposed volume control.
Why is this bad? If you put the UV-5R in a bag, it's quite common for the transmit button to be accidentally and unknowingly pressed. This blocks the channel, and everyone else on the team hears your wheezing as you haul yourself up the hill.
The volume control has a similar problem. If you're not accidentally transmitting, you might end up adjusting the volume while walking. It's either too loud or too quiet. Neither is good; if it's too quiet, you might miss an important radio message.
To prevent these problems with the Baofeng UV-5R, we have the button cover for you. This 3D-printed part is simply attached with the screws for the retaining clip, and no modifications to the device are necessary.
Even with the keypad protected, you can still adjust the volume and press the PTT button perfectly. It's the perfect upgrade for anyone who doesn't just hold their UV-5R in their hand.
This key cover only fits the UV-5R radio.
