The Planzeiger Telemeter v2.0 is the new collaboration between Berlin-based instrument manufacturer WNDSN and SPARTANAT. The perfect tool for snipers.

What have we improved? The numbers and scales have been made more legible, and a dot matrix has been added to the back of the protractor. These dots can be used to calculate azimuth and distance from the map .

The protractor has also been enhanced with a decimal-to-sexagesimal converter . It sounds complicated, but it isn't. It lets you quickly convert minutes to decimal values and vice versa. This is useful in case you're given coordinates in degrees and minutes rather than decimal notation.

The front contains a 6-line (NATO-MIL) distance calculator, while the back features a quadrant for measuring gradients and elevation angles in percent, degrees, and lines with a resolution of 1 degree or 25 lines. There's also a map pointer with a coordinate scale for the common map scales 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 for measuring or transferring rectangular coordinates from or to topographic maps with UTM, MGRS, USNG, or other metric coordinate systems.

The Double-Sided Plan Pointer Telemeter v2.0 is a tool for navigation, elevation, and distance determination, allowing you to do more than just guess at distances. It works by using the angular size in mils from a riflescope or spotting scope for an object of known dimensions to calculate the desired distance. This is all done by stretching the provided string across the corresponding scale. Using the string as a plumb line for the quadrant opens up further measuring and sighting possibilities.

Who needs something like that? Snipers, in particular, can use this virtually indestructible tool to calculate distances and angles they need for the perfect shot without any emissions (e.g., no lasers).

Scales on the SPARTANAT/WNDSN Plan Pointer Telemeter v2.0 :

  • Angle size and distance
  • Height or depth of an object
  • Degree, line and slope quadrant
  • Plan pointer
